Hello everyone
How r u today?I'm Mariam Nur Fairiza from grade 11 science 2 will explain about "Opinion" as far as I know and what I got from various sources on the internetππ
The ideas that a person has about something or someone, which are based mainly on their feelings and beliefs
What makes an opinion good is that we can give reasons or examples that can serve as supporting evidence.
You also tend to use mental verbs. Such as:
- Think
- Doubt
- Assume
- Feel
There are several expressions for asking for opinions/thoughts. Among others:
- What do you think of it?
- What is your thought on that?
- What is your opinion about it?
- What are your views on that?
Everyone can really have a different opinion because usually that opinion is formed from your point of view about the world. But don't just give an opinion but you also have to give reasons and concrete examples so that your opinion makes sense.
There are two points of view that you can use when you want to express your opinion:
1. Personal Point of View
Because it uses a personal point of view so we only use MY and I. For example:
- In my opinion, this food is very unique
- For me, i reckon that we should start reducing our plastic
- Personal, i think this new hairstyle is very pretty for you
- For my point of view this can't be justified because this is already against the rules
2. General Point of View
General view basing its opinion on the perspective of many people. We can use expressions like:
- Most people do not agree that women can't be leaders
- Of course, many argue that plastic can destroy this world
- Some people say that I can't be a successful person because I'm the son of a scavenger
- While some people believe that cats can prevent women from having children
Between the two points of view, both can be equally weighty opinions, the important thing is that you can explain the reason logically.
There are some expressions that you can use to express agreement with another opinion. Among others:
- That's a good point
- I agree with your opinion
- That's obsolutely right
There are several expressions you can use to express disagreement with another opinion. Among others:
- I am not convinced that
- I am not sure if i agree with you
- Sorry, but i have to disagree with you
That's a little explanation about "OPINION" from me. If something is not clear, you can write it in the comments column and don't forget to watch the explanation video so you might understand betterπ. Thank youπ
